Our SEND Leadership Team

Our S.E.N.D.C.O. is Mrs Thomas and our S.E.N.D. Governor is Mr Comber, both can be contacted via the school office.

Dear Parents,

My name is Sally Thomas and I am proud to be the SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator) at Brackenwood Infant School.

I have successfully completed the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination through Manchester Metropolitan University (PGCERT SENCO) and I am also a full time EYFS teacher and parent of two.

One of the most important parts of my role is to ensure that parents receive the information, advice and support that they need in order to participate in the SEND decision-making process. At Brackenwood Infant School, we know that communication is key and we really value the positive relationships we have between ourselves and all of our families. This is particularly important for our children with additional needs.

At Brackenwood Infants, we pride ourselves on ensuring that children with SEND are as well supported as possible and cared for within our setting and that they, along with their classmates, have equal access to a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum in which all children are able to flourish.

If you have any queries or concerns about any issues concerning SEND, please do not hesitate to speak to either myself or your child's class teacher.  If you wish to speak to me, please contact the school office and either ask to make an appointment or request a telephone call.

Additional information regarding our school’s SEND provision can be found on our website, where you can access our school policies and sources of support for your child or yourself. Alternatively, please come and meet me at one of the informal SENDCO drop in sessions available throughout the year.

Kind regards,

Mrs Sally Thomas
